I was very optimistic of this Deep Tissue Massage as the reviews here were very good. I regularly have this time of massage.
The masseuse was very abrupt with a thick accent and limited English so it wasn't clear on arrival where she wanted me to go/put clothes etc. The room I was shown into was cold and brightly lit with dirty walls and ceiling. The massage itself was of very poor quality, a lot of rubbing in of cold oil, then thumping down each limb. The lack of anatomical knowledge was very obvious. As I was just deciding to get up and leave, the masseuse started to calm down and just rub oil in. Ok, I thought, the oil will at least do my skin good. It might have but the oil was then rubbed off with a very scratchy towel! I left at about the 50min mark. I would have given feedback at the time but the limited English of the masseuse made me feel this was a pointless exercise. The receptionist did speak better English but was on the phone as I left. I just wanted to warm up as I was freezing!
By the end of the day I was very aware of 2 large bruises on my leg. This could only have come from the random thumps. I'll be going back to my usual masseuse (who was on holiday!)
Good massage, left feeling refreshed. Not as intense as most Thai massages, but was advertised as an oil massage rather than standard thai, so that's understandable.
Really enjoyed my deep tissue massage at the weekend. The spa was clean with a relaxed ambience. My treatment started with a foot scrub and my masseuse took time on each area of my body. I felt incredibly relaxed and my treatment lasted for the full hour so I found it was great value for money. Will definitely be going back!
the masseur was very polite and gentle and gave me a good massage. the venue was quite run down and would benefit from redecorating. I also would have preferred to have a private room rather than a shared room with other people separated by a curtain.
