Went in with hopes to help save my scruffy pixie hair. I explained that I was growing my hair out, but didn't want it to look mumsy, and that I thought an edgy mullet would be cool (Miley Cyrus-esque) . Hairdresser was lovely and tried to accommodate, but ultimately I left resigned & unhappy (though I hoped for the best as it grew).
Here are things that also affected my experience -
1st mistake was straightening my hair (wavy) to cut it despite me not using straighteners when styling my own hair (so my cut didn't look great when dried naturally).
2nd mistake: cutting my hair too short at the top (my Asian hair sticks up when it's cut too short).
3rd mistake: using her straighteners on my hair despite already putting product in, not happy to see & hear it fizzle.
I thought I'd give it a while incase I started to like my hair but I actually still feel so heartbroken and ashamed about it. On a good day I look like my Asian grandma in the 1970s. On a bad day I look like her husband. We tried to get something cool going on with my hair, but ultimately it was a disaster. I feel that a hairdresser should know what will and won't look good, and advises her client just so. I regret going.
Honestly love the salon and all the people there, can’t fault the staff and service enough, however this time I have been left with orange/ yellow roots when normally my hair lifts no problem. Hopefully next time round the end result will be a lot better
