I, with my husband, went for the spa day, which included two treatments 25 minutes each. We had two vouchers for £99.00 each, which were my Christmas present.
The facilities are good, though the Jacuzzi is small and the number of jets are for 2 people in a time only.
The quality of the treatments were very poor: the body exfoliation lasted 15 minutes only and the therapist said that the shower time is included in the overall treatment time. The facial also lasted about 15-20 minutes and the therapist was very unprofessional (I have facials often). When I told her about timing she said that she has finished and she doesn't know what else she can do!!!
I believe that £99.00 for a spa facilities and overall 35 min treatment is hugely overpriced. And I really felt that I was cheated with the treatments!
Enjoyed a relaxing day in the spa - everything great, apart from the afternoon tea - fantastic restaurant, lovely atmosphere, great tea, OK sandwiches, but very disappointing cakes - & quite the most horrible scone I've ever had (I include my own dodgy cooking in that too!) The standard just didn't match the rest of the perfect day, so a bit of a shame. I'd definitely go back, but not for afternoon tea!
My friend and I visited Brandshatch Place for a weekend afternoon tea and spa for two which included a 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage. The staff were welcoming and on arrival it seemed a nice hotel and spa area, but we were both really disappointed with the spa facilities. There was a nice pool with loungers with the steam, sauna and Jacuzzi in a separate area. On opening the door to the hydrotherapy/steam/sauna area there was a very odd smell and within a few minutes of using the steam room my eyes were streaming and I had to get out (I’ve never had this problem before). The Jacuzzi was very small, with 3 people in it feet where touching in the middle. Again the chemicals must have been too strong as my eyes were streaming before the 10 minute cycle was up. Due to the layout of the area, there was nowhere to sit whilst you waited for the Jacuzzi to be free, unless you were actually in the sauna/steam rooms. I didn’t find it very relaxing.
Our treatment was good, nice therapist, but it was a very quick 30 minutes. The hotel does have a couple of nice relaxation rooms to use separate from the pool/wet area and these were lovely, apart from the hum of cars going round the race track – unfortunately the sound proofing could have been better.
Nothing to fault with the afternoon tea, but all in all it was an overpriced afternoon and I would rather have spent my £65/£130 elsewhere.
Disappointing! This is my local spa and this was my first visit. My therapist was just a tad cack-handed when it came to manicure and I sensed she lacked experience. My cuticles were not trimmed properly and the paint job was not up to scratch. My mother also had a manicure which after 4 hours was still not dry! We made a return visit for her nails to be repainted and with a different therapist the work was satisfactory.
Generally, the place looks nice but on closer inspection I found it to be utterly grubby. Every single door was so finger printed around the door plates, which made me wonder what else was dirty! I pointed this out to the staff and it would be nice to think that they might get on to it.
We had lunch in the Atrium, opting for spicy vegetable soup. Completely tasteless was the verdict!
I won't be going back in a hurry, I'm annoyed at the level of expenditure versus feel-good factor!
This is a fab deal, our room was lovely and spacious! Check in at reception was easy and informative.
Treatments are lovely and the relaxation room is great, I sat in there for a while and read my book. Lunch was lovely, it was more like a dinner!
Dinner was also lovely and so was breakfast you can order as much as you wish.
This really is a fab deal and I can't wait to go back!
