This is the second time my friend and I have been here for a spa day and we loved it as much this time as we did the first time. Staff are very polite and welcoming, facilities were nice and clean all round a very good day. We had afternoon tea this time and it was very nice.
It's a lovely venue and good food at the restaurant. The only thing is the spa is at another building only accessible on foot out in the cold. All treatments were fully booked so didn't get to have one. There are better deals out there inclusive of dinner so might not be back right away.
A lovely unusual and luxurious hotel and wonderful staff but to sell the 'spa' aspect is slightly on the misselling side! The 'spa' is a VERY dated public sports facility across a car park with a short pool you can't really swim in as half is knee deep (for children's activities I'm told!) and a mouldy steam room not much hotter than the hotel room?! There is a cheap in ground Jacuzzi but nothing special - it has been given a grander name on the advertising. Such a shame, if they were honest about what they are I think they would do better. Lovely hotel, very lovely staff, but dreadful swimming pool, steam room and Jacuzzi. A bit like a well dressed person with battered shoes with holes in them! I did go to have a bit of a healthy break and really wanted a decent swim/steam room, but the lovely staff and great venue made up for it - now where to get a good swim?!....
