The venue and spa treatments were excellent. However, I am extremely disappointed at the way an issue that arose is being dealt with. I had bought a package day for myself and my cousin to celebrate her 60th birthday. The package included lunch. On the actual day I was informed that the package did not include lunch, so, rather than cause any embarrassment on her birthday I paid. The following day I rang the spa to inform them of their error. I was told that lunch should have been included, but given a rather convoluted explanation as to why this had happened, but I did not receive any apology. I was then told my account would be reimbursed with the cost of lunch by the end of business that day (1/6/17). On checking my account on 2/6/17, I still have not received the reimbursement. Not only is this embarrassing, it has spoilt a special day.
Loved Mary who served afternoon tea. Helen was kind and answered all questions. Breakfast in the main hotel was great, service was a little slow. Overall a lovely day.
No communication re. booking received by spa from Treatwell, so issue re. treatment bookings. Manager's response highly professional but experience patchy. Ambience - busy (kids, staff harried) when we got there. Pool too busy and not enough loungers. Treatments great - though manicure slightly sub-standard. Lunch, particularly the service, was poor - preordered but slow and disorganised, unprofessional.
