The venue was lovely, gym was small but well equipped and pool was good. The Heat Experience was not very warm at all (coldest sauna I have been in) and the ice machine wasn't working. The bad experience was when we turned up, as instructed, 5 minutes before our allotted treatment time and waited. And waited! Twenty minutes after our treatment time we asked a member of staff why we hadn't had our treatment yet. We got no apology or explanation as to why they had clearly forgotten about it, but did eventually get the treatment. Which was a disappointment. The mud was badly mixed and watery, the rasul sauna barely rose above room temperature and the rasul treatment room doesn't have a lock on which meant anyone can (and indeed did) just wander in - not great when you are scantily clad and covered in mud!
Then we had the light lunch which was part of our deal. The food was okay, but it turns out they don't include a drink as part of the "light lunch" and we were charged over £8 for a cup of coffee and a cup of tea!
I think its safe to say we won't be back.
Lovely hotel. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff efficient and welcoming. Treatments were relaxing and professional.
The location is beautiful and even the deluxe room is huge (especially for a 1 night stay). Dinner was good but not impressive, except for the cheesecake which was amazing! Buffet for breakfast including continental and full English so that everyone is happy. The staff is super kind, polite and willing to help.
As for the spa, the swimming pool could be a bit warmer and should be cleaned more often. The sauna rooms and steam room are really nice and quite spacious. Lockers are provided for free as well as towels, showers and hair dryers. There is also a swimsuit dryer so that you don't need to worry about dripping water into your bag.
I had a full body hot stone massage which was amazing and I'd happily choose it again. The relaxation room is just perfect to give you some time to snuggle on a chaise longue after the treatment.
Overall, I have recommended it to most of my friends and I would definitely go back.
I booked the spa as a treat for my husbands birthday as a surprise. Firstly, I would like to say we really enjoyed your facilities, they were of a very good standard and very clean.
However, my husband was very disappointed with his massage. My husband was really looking forward to his massage. Steph was his therapist, we both completed forms regarding our skin and firmness of massage, my husband asked for firm to very firm pressure. My husband during the massage asked Steph on two occasions to be firm and to go deeper with the massage and she did not. My husband in the end thought that there was no point in telling her again.
Later on that afternoon we were asked how our day was going so my husband mentioned that he was a little disappointed with his massage. I wouldn't normally give the feedback as I felt that there was no point due to the therapist being the manager but the receptionist was adamant that all feedback is good.
I would not have normally have said anything but due to it being my husbands birthday I feel really disappointed for him as my massage was great. I would have gone to a different spa if I had known that the massage would not have been satisfactory I would not have come for the day. On a positive note my massage was with Hayley and it was truly amazing, she listened to all my concerns and worked really hard to ensure that all my knots were taken out.
In addition to all the above I have emailed all the above to the leisure manager on two occasions after being given the email address and I have still not received a response. We visited on 1st Feb 2016, due to not receiving a response I felt I was not given any other option but to leave this review.
