Good value for money
Enjoyed ourselves but the Spa is a bit jaded and the changing rooms were scruffy. Lunch wasn't very good.
We had an amazing day! I bought this online for my friends birthday, never having been here before. I couldn’t have been happier. From our welcome on arrival the whole day ran so smoothly. The treatments were amazing and the afternoon tea was delicious, so much cake, it could probably just do with slightly more savoury but it was perfect. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back and will recommend to others! A wonderful memorable experience. Thank you!
Upon arrival i informed the spa staff of food allergies. The lady behind the desk noted everything and went out of her way to speak to the chef and ensure there was something we could eat. She was very helpful. The spa itself is verh dated and run down. The changing rooms offered no private areas just communal change and appeared old and unkempt. The walls, showers and fixtures need attention. The spa facilities and pool area were also below standard and require significant works. The steam room actually smelt so bad we could not use it. The pool was ok but the Jacuzzi lacked any actual bubbles. There were no beds to lay on, wires hanging out of the walls and the place just seemed dark and uncared for. The therapist came to collect us for our treatments and she was lovely. The treatments themselves were nice and well carried out. It would be good to not have to pay extra for aromatherapy oils but the standard oil was fine. Thd therapist was attentive and professional. This part of the spa looked a little more updated and clean although the rooms were devoid of anything stylish or relaxing. Once the treatments were finished we went for lunch. This was the worst part of the day. The food was very sub standard. The cod appeared to be a small piece of frozen fish which tasted of water and was chewy. The bed of greens were overcooked and did not very nice. We ordered a seperate portion of veg as there was not enough on the plate but this was bland and watery. Overall the meal was not enjoyable at all. They also messed up the order in regards to the allergies which they did try to rectify quickly.
We enjoyed our visit and thought it very good value. There were four of us and two were very happy with their meal but the other two had the fish but it was slightly dry and the portion quite small. Otherwise excellent, especially the delicious soup.
