Excellent hotel. Food very good in the club lounge, although the menu we were given was not the one on the hotel web-site. Breakfast also very good but as the tables were not cleared quick enough we were seated in a small dark function room at the rear of the restaurant - not the same atmosphere as the bright sunny restaurant. Room very comfortable. Spa has a super range of 'sauna' rooms and hydro pool is great. Bar service in the spa a bonus. Would recommend.
We visited the Mere and stayed overnight for my daughters birthday and it was beautiful.. Service was excellent and our overall experience was amazing.. We will definitely return.. My only (very small) gripe was that I specifically mentioned I'd booked the weekend as a celebration treat and emphasised I wanted it to be special but there was no mention or evidence of it throughout our stay despite being assured they would do something for her.. I wasn't after 'freebies' as I'd brought my own champagne hamper for her and decorated the room myself, I only wanted a bit of fuss to make her feel special on her birthday. Like I say it's only a small niggle and didn't affect our weekend whatsoever.. Next time we stay we will definitely book for longer..
