The hotel and venue in general is very nice for the area. Hotel reception was fine, and Brown's Restaurant and housekeeping staff were very friendly and professional.
The Spa facilities were a bit disappointing, Madisson from the reception was not very helpful and lack of can do attitude initially when I asked for a treatment list. I was told to check out the website which does not make sense, I leave my mobile in the locker during spa treatments. My partner and myself would have booked another treatment if there was a list right there and then. She only printed a list from the website when my partner further prompted her and was informed the venue has not printed the new brochures yet and would not be available for another week. Personally, this means losing customers booking treatments. This experience made us book the rest of our treatments at Cottons Spa the following day, which was great and the staff were spot on!
One positive note to the The Mere Spa is Oana being very helpful with the booking process and very professional during our arrival in the reception.
Booked in for a Totally You Spa day. The massage and facial were absolutely brilliant and really relaxing. The Spa facilities were great with a good variety of steam rooms etc. They could however do with more loungers as people tended to leave their towels on them and not use them which was frustrating.
We also had a 2 course lunch as part of the package - we were very disappointed with the quality of the food. The choice from the set menu looked very poor quality compared to others who were eating off the other menu. I chose the chicken with superfood salad which was very bland and dry and the superfood salad consisted of cous cous and wilted lettuce. If they sort the food out the day would be perfect!
