The Mere spa was fantastic. Fantastic facilities and very clean. I had the perfect most relaxing time with my Mum and would definitely like to return.

Good points: hotel is beautifully decorated and isvery well designed, rooms are big and comfortable woth everything you'd need in them. You can go into the spa whenever you want which we made good use of. Different choices of restaurants were good, the food was really delicious wherever you got it from and not expensive at all.
Bad points: as nicely decoratrd as the hotel is, it's starting to look like they're not maintaining it well. Lots of little fixtures/fittings that are wobbly on the wall etc, leaky sink in our room and so on. I hope they sort that sort of thing out because otherwise in a few years it wont be as nice as it is now. The only food problem we had was some undercooked poached eggs in the morning which we didn't eat. Twice a day the spa gets ruined by letting children into it. If the idea is it's a place for relaxation rather than a sports club I don't see why they do this, kids jumping in and splashing each other really ruins the ambience of the spa. I don't remember ever wanting to go to a spa as a child, it's not really designed for them, so I don't think they'd miss it if this part were for adults only.
As always it's my second time here & it was wonderful . Next time I will stay for two nights instead if one
A present for my wife who loved her day and came back completely relaxed. Hopefully I will be able to join her next time.
