Great overnight stay. Spa was simple but nice and relaxing, room & food both good, staff friendly. The times of the meal and treatment were chosen for us and couldn't really be moved but overall a great stay, would definitely recommend.
Not a great experience. Spa rooms are lit up so not relaxing. Awkward therapists. Would not go again.
The facial itself was less than adequate, left the spa with my face feeling sticky like jam, and crumbling moisturizer.
Facilities at the Runnymede were fantastic, lovely pool and clean changing facilities. Spa treatment was excellent. We had the aromatherapy massage which was nice and firm, staff in the spa were nice and friendly. Due to the deal we booked we were expecting pastries/tray bakes on arrival. This consisted of a few slices of rocky road, not quite what I would expect at a spa day for breakfast. Service was slow. Staff were a bit too imposing, loud and not quite what you would quite expect for a four star hotel. Food was average. You had unlimited access to drinks/fruit during the day. The drinks were from a self service machine and pretty terrible. Overall a nice day but left feeling that it was quite over priced for what you received which was really just access to the lovely facilities, one treatment and a one course lunch (salad, sandwich, baked potato or soup). Probably wouldnt book a deal again but maybe just purchase a one day pass.
On Saturday afternoon the spa area became like a leisure centre with hoards of families & children water fighting with the drinks dispenser! The ambience was definitely affected and we chose to wait in our room before our treatments. Not a destination spa! Our treatments however were great, dinner in the restaurant was lovely and breakfast was as expected. We also had a lovely walk along the river too.
We purchased the couples retreat deal and had a lovely stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was smart and tidy and had a great view of the Thames. Food was great and the massage was very relaxing.
