The treatments, cream tea & staff were amazing however the Spa facilities are very basic & was probably expecting a little more. I think although we had a wonderful day it is an expensive one!
The instructions on the booking advise to ring up and book a time for your treatment. I rang twice and left two voicemail messages asking for someone to call me back. No response! On of the staff seemed shocked and apologetic that nobody had rang us the day before to confirm everything.
So we turned up on the day not knowing what time our treatments were. We had to wait several hours as we arrived in the morning and our treatments were for mid afternoon. We usually prefer our massages together however they couldn't do this as they were short staffed due to somebody being on holiday.
The spa is nice! A nice drive up to the hotel and the spa is separated from the hotel which is good as there was a wedding on and would felt like an intruder had it not. Steam room is good, and the jacuzzi also, although it was closed for some of the afternoon due to a chemicals issue with it. The reception area is nice and relaxing, plenty of drinks, fruit and magazines and newspapers too!
Our massages were amazing, one of the best we have had.
I paid just under £60 for this spa day which included an hours full body massage each which i think is excellent value for money. An enjoyable day, but could of been better in certain areas.
Lovely time at Woodhall Spa, we had the afternoon tea package with a facial, and we both enjoyed it very much. The spa is small but comfortable and the afternoon tea was very good. Set in lovely grounds, with views over rolling hills, the hotel itself is beautiful.
The rooms were beautifully decorated and the hotel had a fantastic, cosy drawing room and a grand bar. We also got a free upgrade to a front facing room. The breakfast served in the morning was great - a continental breakfast and the choice to order any hot food off the menu. The spa was lovely and quiet and the spa staff were so friendly and chatty. However, I would never go back for dinner in the restaurant at Wood Hall. The menu was trying too hard to be high class and as a result, none of the food really leaps out at you. My starter of smoked duck had no flavour and my main was tiny - the size of a starter for £25. I complained to the staff and they didn't do anything to rectify the situation. We came for my boyfriend's birthday and they definitely didn't make the dinner special. We only felt like we were being ripped off.
