Took me three times phoning the spa to actually make my booking as they clearly didn’t book me in. I requested an email confirmation and never received one which then made me ring them the following day to ask why. They said I’m not booked in and would look in to it and call me back. I never received a phone call so yet again I called them to see what’s going on to be told yes your booked in now! they never apologised for the inconvenience and if it wasn’t for my friends birthday I would have cancelled there and then.
When I arrived there was no one to greet us and waited 15 minutes. My massage was supposed to be 30 minutes however it lasted 15 minutes. The overall massage was good even tho it was cut short.
Very disappointed in the treatments my friend and I had. On arrival, we were shown to the 'relaxation room' which was basically a small dark room with a couple of plastic garden chairs covered in a blanket. We were informed that our pamper package was the choice of two treatments from a facial, gel nails and back, neck and shoulder massage. The therapist then went on to explain that the gel nails were no longer part of the package - in other words, there was no choice...
We then had a choice of 3rd treatment from eye, foot or hand treatment or scalp massage and both chose the foot treatment. We were then shown to the treatment room and left to get changed. I noticed immediately that the towel I was lying on was damp. The massage was nowhere near the 'medium' pressure I requested and felt very rushed. We were then asked if we wanted to 'upgrade' to a dermalogica facial for an extra ten pounds. The therapists were totally unprofessional throughout our treatments - whispering to each other and giggling alternated with yawning. The whole atmosphere was so unrelaxing, one therapist 'forgot' to put the eyepads on and the foot treatment was basically just rubbing cream on our feet - no boosters or socks, warm wax etc. I go for spa sessions on a regular basis and would never return here - there are far better places to go, take my advice and go elsewhere...
I booked a pamper package for myself and my friend. We both decided on a neck and back massage followed by manicure /pedicure. We expected to have the massage at the same time but there were not enough staff available. While my friend had the massage I sat in the reception area for my pedicure. The assistant sat on the floor and I placed my feet on her knee. There were only 6 gel varnishes to choose from. The one I choose was virtually empty resulting in streaky toe nails which I will now have to pay to soak off. Also we were initially shown into the relaxation room where there was coffee and water available, unfortunately no cups or glasses.Very poor organisation, 1st impression are very important therefore would not recommend this spa. On a positive note we also booked afternoon tea at the Ainscow Hotel. Beautiful Hotel and the best afternoon tea I've ever had.
