We really enjoyed our day, the staff were all very courteous and helpful, hot and cold drinks freely available and our lunch was nicely presented and tasty. We have no faults with the treatments we had and we enjoyed our time in the Thermal suite. We loved the relaxation room, the comfy chairs, dimmed lighting and candles all created the perfect ambience, unfortunately this was marred by the arrival of a small group of ladies who came in chatting noisily and playing videos on their mobile phones. Upto that point my daughter and I and another lady were enjoying a complete chill out, relaxing and reading. We felt we were forced to move out. I'm personally not a fan of communal changing rooms, although there was one modesty cubicle it was very small, the changing area was very hot, I just wanted to get out to the fresh air. I had imagined myself leaving the spa, make up on, hair done and presentable as it was I looked pretty dishevelled and felt hot and flustered. These are a couple of minor points which didn't spoil what was a lovely day spending quality time with my daughter.
Staff were in general great, apart from getting our order wrong in the restaurant. The spa itself was ok, the main pool didn't feel accessible due to kids having swimming lessons, the aromatic room didn't appear to be working as it was cold and didn't have any aroma. It was a shame that there was no bar/alcoholic drinks in the spa, we wanted it to feel luxurious with some fizz but none available. The food in the restaurant was very good, the bar option was poor, not open until 5.30, didn't exactly I've you a good option to start the weekend off right. By far the worst thing that would mean I'd never stay again were the standard of the room, nothing short of disgusting, I've stayed in many Mercure's and so it was my own fault I didn't research this one very well and presumed it would have a similar standard to previous ones I have enjoyed. But stained walls, chipped toilet seats, torn and dirty blinds, general damp around the Windows is simply not acceptable. A shame as the staff were very friendly and the restaurant clearly creates great food.
Very nice place and a really enjoyable experience
I booked another date orginally, it was only when i rung the spa directly that they told me they were full on that day which was very annoying as we had already paid. We managed to change the date but we couldn't have our treatments at the same time and i had a gap between mine which wasn't as relaxing as it should have been. I'm sure my treatments were shorter than they should have been . Three of the facilities weren't working and it was very busy (not relaxing)! The lunch was very basic - a few salad leaves, olives and cous cous but the dark chocolate tart was nice. Overall, i wasn't impressed with this spa and would not recommend it to anyone.
Lovely stay at the hotel. The spa and treatments were wonderful. The only thing I would say is whilst in the resteraunt it took a while to get drinks and had quite a wait for the main course. Also whilst at breakfast we did request a pot of tea and some toast which was forgotten about until we asked again. Otherwise everything was great and would stay again.
