Very negative experience. I arrived 15-20 minutes early, yet my treatment started late. At the start, I was not offered any water as usual. Even worse, the treatment ended early! This alone is unacceptable. Add to that, when I once arrived 3 minutes late months ago, they took the time out of my treatment. Yet when they are late, they do not make up for it, they even have the nerve to end the treatment early to accommodate other clients. Another point: when I arrived and when I left, the receptionist was absent so I could not say anything to them directly. Finally, the venue was extremely noisy with a lady (presumably a member of the staff) shouting across the ground floor repeatedly. I have been a regular client for five years now but will never set foot here again. They should definitely work on their professionalism.
A disappointing trip - not quite the full relaxation I was hoping for. At 31 weeks pregnant I needed something relaxing not stressful - which was sadly not the case at this spa! I called Thy Spa to book the massage over the phone and explained I had a gift card (and asked if I needed to book online - answer was no). I also called again prior to the massage to double check if I needed to book online as I had a gift card, however was told this was not necessary. On the day of the massage, I arrived 15 mins early as instructed. When I produced my gift card for payment I was told that I had to purchase the massage online after all! Apparently there are different types of gift cards and some could be booked over the phone, whereas others (like mine) had to be booked online. They should have told me this during the 2 calls I had made when booking the treatment! To my amazement I was asked to make the online booking prior to the massage - which involved downloading the Treatwell app on my phone, creating an account and purchasing the massage. I was also told to get changed into the bathrobe and paper pants provided, and complete the self-assessment form all prior to the massage. At 10 mins past the time my massage was meant to begin, I was still struggling to book online, so I suggested to complete the booking after my massage to ensure I received the full 1.5 hr treatment. They agreed to this. Not sure why the staff didn't suggest this in the 1st place! I was taken to the treatment room and the 1st thing the masseuse said was that we had to finish on time as she had another client! Not a nice introduction, frustrating as it was no fault of mine for the delayed start, the massage was already costing £100 and it left me rather stressed and anxious - not a good way to begin a so-called relaxing massage! When I complained about this post-massage, my complaint was basically ignored which was very disappointing. No compassion or understanding was shown. Other points I think it's worth making - the massage itself was nice and eventually I was able to relax. I was hoping there may be a special table to lie on for pregnancy, but this was not the case so I had to lie on either side and then on my back. At this spa you need to change into the bathrobe and paper pants provided - but there is only one small changing room for females so you are highly likely to be changing with other females in the room. Overall I was disappointed with my experience - it was a very expensive massage and was meant to be a relaxing treat, but didn't turn out to be so.
