I can't fault the haircut/blow dry but I came out of there feeling really bad about my hair. I'm a hijabi so I wear my hair in a bun mostly. I'm also Egyptian so I have thick long hair. My hairdresser started off by asking if I had oil on my hair and started saying that if I usually wear it in a bun, its harmful for it. I explained I'm a hijabi so I don't have an option, she said I'm a young woman and if I cover my hair with heavy material then it'll harm it. I asked to cut as much as she'd like but to ensure I can still tie it in a bun. While washing my hair, I got asked many questions such as what oil do I add, how often do I wash my hair, I answered everything but it felt like an interrogation. Hairdresser informed me she'll add a mask while washing, no mention of cost or a question, just added it. During cutting, she asked if I realised that my scalp was peeling and that my shampoo might be bad. No recommendations for what to use just an unnecessary comment. After we were done, she asked if I will put it in a bun now or when I go home, I explained now as again (I'm a hijabi) She insisted on doing the bun herself as she "spent time blow drying my hair and didnt want the bun to ruin it" She added several pins to my hair and used my scrunchie. Upon leaving, I had already paid via Treatwell £65 for cut and blowdry, I was told to pay £25 extra for conditioning treatment. I explained that I hadn't asked for it or been asked, it just got added. My hairdresser said "Just £10 as it was just a mask" I paid it and left but it felt very untransparent as I wasn't given the option in the first place or told the cost. Overall, I appreciate the cut and blow dry but feel extremely bad about the experience. The way I was spoken to, the questions I was asked, the fact that I had to explain several times that I'm a hijabi. From a covid point of view, I wore my mask fully covered but everyone working there had it underneath their nose and when my hair dresser inserted the pins in my hair, she used her teeth. I don't plan on going back there again as they don't seem comfortable with my type of hair or ethnicity.

Thought I would mention that with Covid 19 and social distancing the salon was immaculate and felt very safe as per social distancing measures were all adhered to brilliantly.
