I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service when having my gel nails done. I'll definitely be going back soon. 5 stars!
I had a full set of acrylic nails and I've awarded the salon five stars for every aspect of the service.
I visited USA star nails in Clapham this evening at 5:30pm (Wednesday 4th February). I am a loyal customer and was not treated as such. There was only one other customer when I arrived and 6 staff. I was asked if I would mind having both my shellac manicure and shellac pedicure done at the same time. This is unacceptable considering how empty you were. The other members of staff sat around and did their own nails, I wonder if this is what they are paid for? The lady doing my feet then proceeded to paint my toes purple when I asked for a navy blue. The other lady realised her mistake and got her the correct colour. She then just painted over the purple. My toe nails can now only be considered BLACK! (See attached photo) The lady doing my hands only gave my fingers only one coat of colour plus the glitter gloss. See through shellac is ridiculous! To top it all off, when I went to pay, I was told my total was £61. I handed over my loyalty stamp card to get my 50% off. She then told me my total was £41. £41 not being half of £61, I complained. She said it was off only 50% off the highest price item. The card clearly states its 50% of the next visit. I gave her £31 (£30.50 plus 50p tip for the terrible service) and told her that is what I should be paying. She argued and argued and repeated that it was £41. I wasn't trying to claim anything other than what I deserved and considering the shellac mani/pedi was the worst I've ever had, you should be grateful I paid anything. After questioning her that my last mani/pedi I only received one stamp, went to go to prove that you base the stamps on visits not treatments. So therefore I should have got half price off my entire bill. She agreed that it was one stamp per visit but yet this didn't apply for the 50%. If that is the case, your loyalty card is very misleading and wrong. I have visited USA star nails for the past year and with every visit the service and treatment has got worse. With an influx of poor quality staff in recent months I have become very disappointed with the quality of manicure I received. After my last visit and the terrible service, I will not return. There is a similar size nail bar just opened across the road which I predict will start to get a lot of their business.
I purchased a voucher and I used the company booking system on the website. I didn't receive any confirmations. I contacted the salon and they had plenty of appointments available. I then sent an e mail to the customer service to request the appointment date and time to be confirmed. The company stated that on any given day they will only offer the first appointment @ 9 or the last appointment @ 18:30 The customer service is appalling
I like this salon very much. Yes they are always very busy but I think they do a great job!
