Very disappointed in this visit. The beautician was sloppy in applying the cuticle removal serum, with my whole hand soaked in it. The process was slightly off, as it was clear he forgot to tell me to put my hand in the water bath and started pushing my cuticles back straight away. The filing left rough edges and the shellac was not removed entirely. When I went for a lighter colour of shellac, remains of the previous dark one were showing through. Shocking from USA Star Nails as I'm a regular and this really is not acceptable. To top it off, the shellac wasn't applied neatly at all, and I was left with nails that looked like they were done by a child. I would recommend this place, but not 100% as it can be very hit and miss.
It was my first ever visit to this salon, and it will be my last. I usually do my Shellac at Beauty Box in Victoria, and my Shellac lasts AT LEAST 12 days before any signs of chipping on the edges. And I say AT LEAST as I tend to do a lot of housework every day: washing dishes, often without kitchen gloves, hoovering, laundry, everything. This time I have done my Shellac with this Hampstead salon, and my beautiful Chiffon Twirl colour had 2 chips the very next day!!! Very disappointed. Plus, the staff are all Chinese, and tend to speak with each other and laugh in Chinese only, so they might be as well talking about you, and it's a bit unprofessional. Just a bit. Will stick to the Beauty Box in Victoria. Lee and Janine are amazing there, so ask for them if you go there.
I went there for my Sunday treat. The girl that did the pedicure was really nice and she did what I asked and inform me about the different treatment. The guy that did the manicure was more interested in to choose the music channel on the television that of my nails. He couldn t file my nails properly to don t not shake the girl in the same table while she was applying the nail to another costumer. Two nails were full of tiny bubbles and when I asked to fix it he just place another layer of nail polish that make it worst. Another girl came to do again both finger from the beginning. I was unhappy to see my nails loosing the varnish just 3 days after, I didnt washed plate or anything similar.. so I was really disappointed that a professional opi nail polish went out faster then my cheap diy manicure. Also after 5 day I started loosing the whole nail polish from my toes... normally the varnish stay there for 2-3 weeks, really. A week after I had more cuticles then ever on all my fingers.
All round this was a good visit except for the fact that I was recommended to do an acrylic overlay to fix a cracked nail without mentioning that this would come at an extra cost. My nail felt quite sensitive afterwards and was slightly disappointed at the extra fee I had to pay at the end.
Once again - an absolutely fantastic job. It was clear they were busy but service did not falter at all. Staff remained friendly and did a great job with my shellac manicure.
