I’ve been to the velvet laser clinic a few times to get my chin and under arms done. I would like to add that I’m not new to having laser treatments, and had done some previously elsewhere but when I moved to the area a few years ago, decided to try out Velvet skin clinic. I came in for my appointment with Amber but another person provided the treatment that day, the clinic was quite full as they had consultations for newly launched facial treatments, so I believe Amber’s focus was on this and not existing bookings. The lady who attended to me was professional and nice, however she seemed out of her depth and not knowledgeable about laser treatment, almost like she is in training. The protective glasses she wore over my eyes were like swim goggles and she also put cotton wools in them so that I could see nothing and it was pitch black. I understand wearing protective glasses but not blindfolding clients, almost like she was trying to hide her lack of training. I had some overgrown hair which required a light shave but she completely shaved everything under my chin, she began the laser treatment but I felt nothing, almost as though this was on the lowest possible frequency. I asked why I could feel nothing but air and she proceeded to lie and say that it was on the highest frequency at 14…which I understand from other colleagues in Velvet laser that the highest is up to 24. She said 14 was the highest several times, and did the exact same with my armpits, she shaved them clean and proceeded to just blow laser air in my armpits on the lowest possible frequency. I reached out to report the incident and to be fair I don’t think the front desk staff are trained to manage customer queries. Amber the manager, seemed to be too busy to address me, or speak to me directly, and I’m also disappointed that she couldn’t be bothered to attend my prebooked appointment and sent an inexperienced staff to undertake my treatment. The lady in customer service was dismissive and avoided taking any accountability for the issue presented, instead kept offering that Amber would do it next time as if that fixed the fact that I had such a poor service and 3days in I have hairs growing back where it was supposedly lasered. A few staff have left which were good like Thelma and others. I’m not sure what’s happened since but services seems to have dwindled, my last appointment before this I also broke out badly as the aesthetician doing the laser kept target clear skin rather than where there was hair, I reported this then too and no one reached out. I’m really disappointed in this service and I still have 4 sessions left. The staff require training, they also kept getting my name wrong, they’ve done this since started coming years ago
