Booked through the app for a wash and cut for £15. Turned up and because my hair was long they charged me another £15 just because of the length of my hair. They said it says when I booked it, it states more will be charged depending on the length of the hair but it clearly does not. I asked for layers but the guy just made my hair shorter.
I didn't have a great experience unfortunately: I waited for one hour over my appointment booking time and I didn't hear any sorry from the owner for that. When he was washing my hairs the guy told me I had to pay an extra fee of 20£ because the length of my hairs and I didn't like it because nobody told me this before, because I waited one hour and also because it's ridiculous asking a fee for a long length when I was there for a big cut! The offer I paid on the web was cut+Blowdry for 20£ so asking 20£ as extra fee has been too much and it sounds for me as not honest. At the end I paid 10£. The cut was good but not excellent and it took too much from my point of view.
I waited 25 mins for someone to see me to cut my hair, no big deal on its own but a few things did add up at my appointment...
While they were washing my hair, I was told there would be an extra charge because of the length of my hair. Due to the extra product required and extra time required. I felt I really should have been warned about this BEFORE they started! But to their credit, I was told this charge is meant to be £25 but they reduced it to £15.
Then after my hair was washed and trimmed, the stylist paused and left me and my wet hair to amuse myself while they spent 35 minutes taking care of a different customer while I waited. Just a male hair trim, not sure why that took so long, but the guy was clearly a regular and he had a wedding to get to. So I can understand why they wanted to get him done on time, but they never thought to ask me if it was okay or if I could spare the extra time waiting.
So in the end it took me two hours to get my hair done, and ironically only one hour of that was spent actually doing my hair (so I guess the length didn't add any extra time after all.)
So at that point, one hour late for my manicure appointment at the same venue, I asked if they wanted me to pay the extra £15 before or after my manicure. Only to find out the beautician wasn't in that day. So treatwell let me book a pre-paid treatment that I never received. The store said they could not refund me and gave me the beautician's contact details saying only she could refund me. She was nice enough about it, it was just an inconvenience.
So overall - the experience wasn't great but I have to admit the haircut WAS. I only wanted a simply trim and to feather in the front of my hair and the stylist did a great job of it.
So I'm a bit torn about this one. Maybe I'll give the venue another chance.
My appointment was actually with Claire, and I'm really pleased with the result. I think maybe another hairdresser or even a junior could help the salon - it was quite busy and I felt that an extra pair of hands would have helped the things along a bit! Apart from that I couldn't fault the service, would definitely recommend.
