I bought this spa package for myself and my mum for Mother's Day. Neither of us had been to a spa before so we weren't sure what to expect. Upon entering the reception area, I found that the staff took a while to notice that we were there and we didn't really receive a greeting from them, just a 'have you been here before'. As we hadn't, we had to fill in a form each about ourselves (name, address, ailments that may affect our experience). We were handed a towel, robe and slippers and shown to the changing room and told to meet one of them back in the reception area after we were changed to be shown to the spa.
The changing room was clean, with toilet cubicles, a main changing area and shower cubicles. I was a little surprised that there were no single changing cubicles, however we just got changed in the shower cubicles.
We were then shown down to the spa, which involved a couple of flights of stairs. Remember to use the toilet before you go down to the spa as those facilities are not available on that floor and you will have to go back up to the changing area again! The spa worker showed is into the spa and talked us through each facility and what benefits each gave. My mum and I found this very helpful and put us at ease.
I personably found some of the steam rooms quite suffocating and couldn't access all of the areas due to this, but this was just personal preference. One of the foot spas was slightly broken as it kept draining they water out and my mum kept having to refill it, which wasn't very relaxing! Also, we noticed a ring of scum around the headrests in the hydrotherapy pool which was a bit unpleasant. However these were small issues and we both had a very relaxing and lovely time at the spa.
We had our treatments booked in at 12 and we were told at reception that someone would come down and get us at that time. However I checked the clock on the outer door and it was 12.05, so we left the spa of our own accord as we were worried we would miss our treatments. We shown to the relaxation room to wait for our treatment room to be readied. My mum had a facial and I had a massage, both of which we really enjoyed. The treatment room was really relaxing and calming with dim lights and soft music.
Overall we had a lovely time and would definitely visit again!
First time we used this place and will return very nice venue on my door step only problem was parking
Have become very regular visitors to the Ramsgate Spa and always find it excellent value for money, highly recommend the venue to family and friends, excellent staff help the overall experience
The leisure facilities were relaxing, easy to use and clean. The massage was fantastic and the staff were very helpful and welcoming.
Really good value but there was lots of other people in there at the same time (since it is part of the gym) which took away from the relaxation.
