I’m Rachel Smith (Cert.Hyp CS) a hypnotherapist based in Edinburgh and I help people to truly feel like themselves. I came to hypnotherapy through my own personal experience, realising that hypnotherapy is actually really powerful – and works. I take this responsibility very seriously and am a firm believer that our actions and behaviours come from somewhere, so getting to the root cause of these can help us to make those changes where we really can change our lives completely – even when we thought it wasn’t possible. I have always thought that I lived a healthy lifestyle since I had an active childhood doing swimming, gymnastics, martial art from early years and then running and weightlifting later on in life, whilst eating cooked food on a regular basis and yet I was diagnosed with high cholesterol in my teens by my GP. I wasn’t overly keen on being on medication and regular check-ups for the rest of my life, so I followed their advice for a while but was searching for alternative solutions. I wanted to understand what went wrong, so I found a few specialists and attended nutrition courses to get ideas what to change in my diet. This new direction soon resulted in an excellent blood test, and I never needed those tablets ever again. Working in childcare for over a decade, I also witnessed how bad the kid’s diet was and I wanted to do something about it. I was also born with a bicuspid aortic valve heart problem and had to undergo two surgeries. The recovery period was half of what was expected, thanks to knowing how to prepare and keep my body in excellent condition. In order to help others, I accredited as a nutritionist and became a member of the Royal Society Public Health RSPH. I feel very excited about officially offer my service and share my knowledge and experience with others who would like to improve their approach and quality of life.

I have been involved in sports for 28 years, but I have been doing sports since I was a child. I started my career with volleyball, then at the age of 18 I met kyokushin karate and it immediately became a part of my life. I competed in full contact competitions until 2003. I am a multiple international champion, a twice European champion and a three-time World Cup winner. Since 2004, I have been working not only with competitors but I began to expand my knowledge in the direction of people who do regular work and sitting work. Kick-Boxing Class 60 minutes - £20 each (min 2 people) Kickboxing, which combines boxing techniques with kicks, is influenced by a variety of martial art forms, including karate, Thai boxing, tae kwon do, and kung fu. This full body workout gets your heart pumping, and it can also build muscle, improve balance, burn calories, and more.
