My hair is black, what colour I can put on it to make it lighter?

hi my hair was black but i have been trying to wash it out using head and shoulders and its going so much lighter the question i want to ask is id like to go blonde but last time i tried to do this my hair went like elastic what should i use to prevent this or can you reccomend a treatment that i should go for and which hairdressers in hull and what should i ask for id like a hairdresser to do my hair blonde but never know what to say or how to explain it?

You need to bleach or strip it and i would only recommend having this done at a salon as you could have a disaster and it will cost you a fortune for a salon to then fix it, loads of things can go wrong.
