As the summer is starting to get really hot my hair is starting to get dry and straw-like. Would be nice to hear any home remedies I can try to get the moisture back :)

Hi charley the main thing is the right shampoo choose a very gentle one for dry hair. next conditioner when applying always towel dry first. add a small amount, massage in comb though leave for ten minutes wrap a towel around. Macadamia oil is the best treatment for dry hair, in my salon 70% off clients use it. The ultimate hair treatment gives protection and shine heals and rejuvenates shampoo, oil, mask, leave-in conditioner. The five star treatment that does work.!!!

Olive oil, it's natural & very good for moisturising scalp & hair (also skin). Apply to DRY hair & massage into scalp, be as generous as you like! Leave on as long as possible. Overnight if you can, but while you soak in a nice warm bath will also do the trick & the added warmth is good. Hair can be wrapped in a towel or headscarf. Or lay something over pillow if on overnight. When ready, wash & rinse thoroughly with your favourite shampoo & style as desired..... for beautiful, soft & shiny hair! TIP: If the olive oil is slightly warmed it is easier to apply :)

Morroccan Oil Treatment is a great everyday product to use, it helps protect against heat & sun, helps the hair stay soft and shiny. It is a very light serum. Morroccanoil also has 2 great Hydrating & Restorative Treatment Masques. There are so many great products out there that are specialised, it seems too much trouble to make a home remedy. Another great conditioner is TIGI S-factor Serious Conditioner. In all cases with treatment masques or conditioners, leave them on for 10-15 minutes (or longer) to have it penetrate to really do it's job.

Thank you robertbanyaga, I have heard about Moroccan Oil before and forgot about it! Will be ideal for protecting against the sun.
