It’s no secret that all of our fave throwback trends are having a major moment RN. My insta feed is currently full of 90s glossy lips, low-rise jeans, and baguette bags (and my ASOS wishlist is full of the same). If you’re a 90s baby (or if, like me, you’re just a mega fan of 90s fashion), then this resurgence of Paris Hilton-esque style moments is something that you’re, like, totally here for.
One 90s trend that has had a major PR re-brand over the past year is the humble claw clip. For me, the claw clip was always a ‘behind-the-scenes’ kind of accessory. It’s what my mum would use to keep her hair out of her face whilst making dinner – but not one that she would often venture out into the world with.
Thanks to the likes of Bella Hadid, and Kendall Jenner, though, the claw clip has pulled a 180 (and of course our old friend TikTok, where #clawclip has 193.5m views). From slicked-back buns to laid-back half-up dos, the claw clip is now the go-to, effortlessly chic accessory that supermodels and IG influencers alike are obsessed with.
Following in the hallowed footsteps of Rachel from Friends and Julia Stiles in pretty much any 90s teen flick (we’re looking at you, 10 things), the claw clip is now a permanent fixture in my handbag (and yes, it is a 90s baguette bag – spotting a theme here?)
