We all have that one friend (it’s me), who loves the beauty stuff. Expensive hairspray (it holds), plush-looking skincare (the gram needs it), regular massages (but my shoulders?), and a hoarder of products (can’t justify – just greedy). Here’s everything your beauty-loving friend would like to open on Christmas Day. Read: here’s all the stuff you’re going to want – because I know it’s really you that’s obsessed.

1 A jade or quartz roller
This one brings the ‘wow factor’ (that cheesy Simon Cowell-style approval we’re all seeking). Not only are these ridiculously good-looking, but they serve real purpose too. A jade – or rose quartz – roller helps to alleviate puffiness and encourage lympathic drainage. You’d get a back massage right? This is just an at-home face massage. Keep it in the fridge, and use every morning. Apply your usual creams and oils, then roll in an upwards motion across your face. Heaven.

2 A silk pillowcase
Right, I’m fighting the cause on this one, because yes it’s the bougiest gift you will ever give (receive), but lord is it luxurious. One for the sensitive amongst us, silk pillowcases are naturally hypoallergenic, resistant to dust mites, mold and other allergens. Great news for those of us in a fusty shared house (ahem). Better yet, a cotton pillowcase will pick up dirt and oil for your skin, and transfer it straight back onto your face the next night. Silk cases will not. Result.

3 Fancy makeup storage
That acrylic Muji set is still just as popular. Why? Because It’s still the best-looking cabinet to store on your dresser that combines Scandi-cool with serious practicality. The ultimate combo. They can show off that hefty hoarders selection, and find their favourite products with ease. I would 100% encourage colour coordinating (not just for the aesthetic pay off), and kitting out a whole room in Muji storage. You won’t regret it.

4 Beauty books
If there’s one thing us lot like to read, it’s reams of blog posts about new product releases with swatch pics. Other than that, Harry Potter comes pretty high up top (presumptuou, but true), then beauty books. There are a few ‘classics’ on the scene right now, like Sali Hughes’ Pretty Honest – the ‘straight talking beauty companion’, Face Paint: The Story of Makeup by Lisa Eldridge (because that woman is w-i-s-e), and Validated! The Makeup of Val Garland if purusing beaut editorial photography is your thing.

5 Really great skincare
The Ordinary was probably the most hyped brand of 2018, and with good reason. Even on a secret santa budget you could afford some goodies from the ‘purse-friendly’ Deciem brand. Think advanced skincare like hyaluronic, glycolic and lactic acid, with a slice of makeup on the side (including a very popular foundation). Or go for skincare set from the likes of Space NK – they're the perfect way to try miniatures of well-known brands without spending your entire pay cheque.

6 A Treatwell gift card
Obviously a little biased, but a gift card is a great present for literally everyone. A Treatwell card means the giftee can book any salon (or spa) for a treatment at any time, on any date. Let's face it, you can never be sure when the pals will be free (left on blue ticks, always), so booking a slot would be a true nightmare. Give 'em the giftcard and let them decide.
With Treatwell, you can book beauty online at all your favourite salons – simple, hassle-free, and you can do it on the go. Discover amazing salons in your area.
