Here’s why the CACI facial is replacing Botox

Published on 5 June 2018 - Last updated on 19 December 2025 by Beth Ryan

We’re not giving up on our quest for the Elixir of life – it’s out there somewhere, and we’re getting closer by the day – but for the time being, we’re pretty happy with CACI facials. No needles, nothing invasive, no Botox, just a natural (OK, electric) boost to your skin for a brighter looking complexion.

  • 1 It uses electricity instead of chemicals

This facial uses a special device called a CACI (which stands for Computer Aided Cosmetology Instrument – you never know, that factoid might come in handy during a pub quiz). It delivers a low level zap of micro-current to your skin to stimulate your cell's natural energy and give your facial muscles a workout. This helps to lift your skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, as well as potentially leaving it looking smoother and more contoured.

  • 2 It gives your face a workout

You've got 32 muscles in your face, but no way to tone them at the gym – unless you count chatting after a group exercise class, of course. Luckily the CACI facial has a few different tricks to give your face muscles a workout. Thankfully, it's nowhere near as tiring as a spin class. You'll feel a bit of a tingle while the machine does it's muscle-toning thing, but it shouldn't be uncomfortable.

  • 3 The results are usually visible after one treatment

After you walk out of your first session you should already notice a few little changes, such as a glowing complexion and firmer skin. Your wrinkles and fine lines should be less defined, too. These beautifying effects tend to hang on for several days after your treatment. We're not ones to gossip, but apparently Jennifer Lopez goes for a CACI before hitting the red carpet, FYI…

FAQs

What is a CACI facial and how does it work?

A CACI facial uses a Computer Aided Cosmetology Instrument to deliver micro-current electricity to your skin, stimulating your cells and facial muscles. This process helps to lift your skin, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, and leaves your complexion looking brighter and more contoured.

Will you feel discomfort during a CACI facial treatment?

You might experience a mild tingling sensation while the CACI machine works on your facial muscles. The treatment should not feel uncomfortable, and it’s much gentler than a workout at the gym.

How soon do you see results after a CACI facial?

Results from a CACI facial are usually visible after just one treatment. You can expect a glowing complexion, firmer skin, and less defined wrinkles and fine lines for several days after your session.

How does a CACI facial differ from Botox or invasive treatments?

CACI facials are completely non-invasive and use electricity rather than needles or chemicals. There is no Botox involved, making it a natural option for those seeking brighter, firmer skin without injections or downtime.

Why can’t you tone your face muscles at the gym?

The face has 32 muscles that you can’t tone with traditional gym workouts. A CACI facial targets these muscles directly, helping to tone them in a way regular exercise can’t.
