Don’t get us wrong: sometimes we’ve got all the time in the world for makeup. Like when we’ve got a big event on a Saturday and we start getting ready from about 3pm (read: 12pm). Isn’t that what cloudy afternoons were made for? More often than not though, we’d rather roll out of bed looking like we’ve done it in our sleep. Semi-permanent makeup is a bit of a life hack – particularly for holidays, when it’s too hot to put on mascara.

1 Perfectly arched brows
Even your best brow brush might find it hard to compete with mighty microblading. This semi-permanent treatment involves tattooing gentle strokes of colour onto your brow, so it looks like natural hair. The therapist uses a numbing gel, so it shouldn't hurt. What it should do is leave your brows looking perfectly shaped and filled.

2 Well-defined lips
Lip tattoos are a soft, non-invasive way to create the illusion of a plumped up pout. The tattoo defines the border of the lips, making them look more defined. Most therapists gently blend the colour towards the middle of the lip, so it seems more natural. Modern treatments use a semi-permanent pigment instead of ink for an understated and matte finish.

3 Fluttery eyelashes
There are many treatments out there dedicated to eyelashes that it's (almost) hard to keep track, but here are three we love:
-
An eyelash perm for a natural-looking curl that lasts for up to six weeks
-
A tint so you can use less mascara or forget it all together
-
An all singing, all dancing lash lift that straightens and curls for the illusion of longer lashes.
