The verdict is in: the official Pantone colour of the year has been revealed, and pretty much everyone (us very much included) is already suitably obsessed. ‘Very Peri’ also known as PANTONE 17-3938, is a fun, lush shade described by Pantone as “a dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet-red undertone.”
Pantone’s Colour of the year is all about reflecting “what is taking place in our global culture”, and essentially predicting the vibe for the year ahead. According to them, Very Peri displays a “spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression,” and “helps us to embrace this altered landscape of possibilities, opening us up to a new vision as we rewrite our lives.” And, let’s be honest, that’s definitely what we need after the past two years.
And, yes, whilst we totally love the new beginnings, creativity and joy, and everything else that Very Peri represents, it’s also just, like, really pretty. Plus (hoorah) it’s also majorly flattering against all skin tones and hair, which makes it *perfect* for our first 2022 hair and beauty obsession. So, we’ll for sure be incorporating it into our routines from now on.
