Raise your hand if you’re a sucker for a neutral nail. I head to the salon with dreams of red and coral, and leave looking down at my 50-shades-of-beige fingertips. But with spring finally here, I’ll be going all in on geometric nail art. The trend invaded our Insta feeds in 2017, and proved just as popular on the catwalk this year, so it’s time we swatted up on the geometric trend (because that’s my kind of mathematics).
A dream for the minimalists, with clean lines, and pared-back colours, the trend adds a subtle spin to pastel-toned nails. If bold and bright is your manicure mantra, roll with contrast shapes and statement shades: think spring with zesty brights, or go primary, with red and blue in asymmetric patterns.
Short-nails? No problem. If you’re a nervous biter, or just can’t get ‘em growing, add some interest with colour and print (nail art looks cute on trim tips, anyway.). If you do want the illusion of longer-looking nails, opt for shades that suit your skin tone, and make your mani gel to help them grow.
Fan? Of course you are, here’s the best in class of geometric nails.
