The #PicassoNails hashtag is growing on Instagram, and it’s caught my attention. A neutral manicure veteran, why is my eye wandering to the world of nail art? Because this is the trend us minimalists have been waiting for.
If you’re trying it at home, use a cotton bud, or the thin end of a paintbrush to create your Picasso-inspired design. With abstract lines and curving shapes, it’s a tough one to mess up (great news). Of course, if you’d like your manicure to last longer, make it gel, and ask a real artist – nail artist – to do the work for you.
Sure, you can add a colour, go hard on the glitter, or layer up designs, but I’ll be sticking with a neutral base and creating my design with black polish (read: I’m lying, I’ll be heading to the nail salon). Artwork on your fingertips? That’s my kind of exhibition.
