We’ve had a year of nineties chops and pastel tones, but when it comes to hair colour trends, for the latter part of 2018, looks like things are set to get bright, bold and spicy (oo-er). Catwalk, Instagram, street style and, well, the office, there’s inspiration flooding in from everywhere, so we’ve rounded up our favourites. Make your appointment now, as you’re sure to be set on one of the below (sorry in advance for the temptation).

1 Acid brights
We can probably put this one down to Kylie Jenner, who started embracing the acid bright thing long ago with her extensive wig collection. Since then, Kanye West has put neon shades on the map with his ‘frozen yellow’ Yeezy collection. As for hair? It’s bold, fun and surprisingly easy to wear (more evidence here). Try tempering an acidic rainbow shades with a natural root, it’s a little more casual.

2 Shades of blonde
Since the reign of ash grey and all things platinum, the blonde trend has transitioned to a little warmer in 2018. More golden, if you like – it works a treat on all skin tones. Softer, buttery, and somewhat beachy, it’s the summer hair trend that always swings round, but we think it’s sure to stay put through the cooler season. Try slicking it down for that ‘undone’ vibe, or scrunch up with salt spray once the root regrowth starts (it looks great with texture).

3 Caramel rose
Well, we all love rosé. Caramel rose hair fuses a light brown (caramel) base with a pinky tinge, through ombre, balayage, or all-over colour. Actually, it works a treat on sombre too (that’s a ‘subtle’ ombre, FYI). Caramel rose is the simplest way to dabble in pastel tones, adding texture and dimension to brunette locks. Course, any hair colour can give rose a try: orange-pink blended into blonde looks mighty-fine, right Raye?

4 Fiery red
There’s not much that’s natural about this hair trend – the more colour, the better (we’re talking loud). If you’re feeling a change, this is the shift to make – go spicy with deep burgundy red, or a little more fiery with rust orange. The Pumpkin Spice should be back any day, seems appropriate. Since bold colour can fade fast (and we want to keep it fresh), wash your hair in lukewarm water to protect it.
