We’ve combined our two Christmas loves, and have worked out exactly what your all-time fave Christmas film says about you – and what festive mani you should get to match. Time to get in the spirit.

1 It's a Wonderful LifeYou: You’re a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas. For you, Christmas is all about family, friends, and good old-fashioned holiday spirit. You love the classics, and your favourite Christmas songs are probably carols.
Your nails: Classy & classic. Deep oxblood, crimson, (or any shade of red, really) is about as Christmassy as it gets – add some abstract designs if you’re feeling adventurous, or some holly and ivy to double down on the traditional vibes.

2 Elf
You: You’re a kid at heart, and you have the best sense of humour. You don’t take yourself too seriously, you love all things whimsical, and your fave things about Christmas are definitely the sweets, the presents, and the (Baileys) hot chocolates.
Your nails: Whimsical and fun. Gingerbread men, Christmas puds – anything goes. Or, for the more minimal – opt for a couple of candy-striped elements (one of Buddy’s four food groups, obvs).

3 Love Actually
You: You’re a true romantic, and Christmas for you is all about the love. You love a good cry, a happy ending, and listening to Mariah Carey on repeat throughout December (and let’s be honest – November too).
Your nails: Embrace the romance – a deep glittery red or some sparkly hearts will have you feeling all loved up in no time.

4 The Nightmare Before Christmas
You: You love Christmas, but (being true to your inner goth-self) you’re more of a Halloween person – and you use festive season as an excuse to whip out the Tim Burton classic twice a year.
Your nails: Festive, but make it dark. A navy or black mani is a great base for a festive-but-not-too-festive look. Add gold accents for some sparkle, or simple nail art for a minimalist look.

5 How the Grinch Stole Christmas
You: You won’t admit it, but you secretly love Christmas. You complain about Christmas songs starting too early and annoying tv ads, but you definitely cry when the Grinch finally learns what Christmas is all about.
Your nails: Green, of course! A minimalist design in shades of green is perfect for pretending that the festive-ness of your mani is sheer coincidence, rather than an homage to your fave holiday.

Your nails: What could be cozier than recreating Amanda’s iconic cable-knit jumper in your mani? Go for neutral shades and warming matte textures for a classic winter feel.

You: Again, you’re a bit of a traditionalist at Christmas. You watched this every Christmas eve growing up (and probably still do), and you feel inexplicably emotional every time you hear ‘Walking in the Air’.
Your nails: Add a grown-up nod to your fave film by adding some super elegant snowflakes to your mani.
