What to expect?
Here’s how a typical treatment will go down. Depending where you plan to get zapped (face, hands, neck and arms are all suitable), your aesthetician will cover the area with a thin layer of clear gel designed to work alongside radio frequency. The handpiece of their fancy machine is then cooled and pressed against the skin to reduce the surface temperature. Gentle pulses of light and electrical current are absorbed into imperfections such as brown spots, spider veins and broken capillaries. This process kickstarts the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and effectively repairing all those nasty blemishes. That’s it. No downtime, minimal discomfort, and you can usually apply makeup a couple of hours after treatment!
Know before you go
- Please note that those with dark or naturally tanned skin may not be suitable candidates for a Foto Facial RF™ and may wish to speak to their dermatologist before booking an appointment.
- Foto Facial RF™ is 30-minute non-invasive procedure. For best results, most people will require 4-6 sessions at three-week intervals.
- Those who suffer from rosacea, a skin condition that causes extreme redness in the face, may respond well from a Foto Facial.
The sciencey stuff
How does it work? Foto Facial RF™ uses radiofrequency energy (RF) to send pulses into your skin that work to enhance and repair irregularities. Energy targets brown spots, light wrinkles, blood vessels and other unsightly blemishes. The radiofrequency is also effective in kickstarting the production of collagen under the skin, helping to smooth out and minimise moderate acne as well as other common skin conditions like rosacea and minor dermal injuries.
